ABOUT THE EVENT
“The Future of the Industry” summit is a two-day event powered by Los Angeles Urban League Young Professionals that will empower and educate young professionals and college students on the emerging technologies that will impact the future of Film/TV, Music, and Sports/eSports.
The weekend will conclude with an intimate brunch and silent auction to award current and future changemakers in Hollywood. Silent auction proceeds will benefit LAULYP member-only events and the United Negro College Fund and its Emerging Leaders program.

A conversation between Entertainment professionals on the importance of including people of color on creative teams. Attendees will walk away insights on how to use transferable skills to gain employment, develop projects, and how Talent Managers, Lawyers, Publicists, and Agents work together to create magic!

Side Hustle to CEO: Power and Profit

A panel of multi-hyphenates will share lessons on their journey in Entertainment. Creative Entrepreneurs will learn how to leverage the relationships and resources of their full- time job to fulfill the needs of a startup business, how to balance multiple projects, asking for what you’re worth, and finding your “Why” in the Industry.
Film Screening and Conversation: Colors of Sankofa

A few weeks before a trip to Ghana, budding CEO, Elyse Bempong finds herself forced to replace her second in command. After swimming through what seems like a never ending pile of applicant resumés, a familiar name appears in the pile. However, this feeling was far from warm and fuzzy. An undesired opening in her empire leads Elyse to a place she never thought she would have to go back to. A despised past she worked diligently to disappear returns in the most unlikely of ways.
This short drama was created to highlight the harsh realities of colorism in a world obsessed with lighter skin, as well as, dive into the long term effects of bullying.
Physical and Mental Health in Entertainment

Attendees will learn how to identify and find solutions to unhealthy practices around the high stakes of the Entertainment Industry. Future Executives, Artists, Influencers, and Entrepreneurs will learn how to protect their mental health in the age of social media and cope with the realities of the world.
Black Women at Disney: Storytelling Meets Innovation

Disney is an inspiring family of companies using storytelling, technology, and inclusion to embrace new audiences and to foster new genuine connections with diverse communities. Join us for an entertaining panel featuring Black female leaders as they discuss their amazing career paths and how they use tech and innovation within their roles across the Disney universe.
